Light Trails @ Penang Road and Burmah Road, Penang with Sifu Sam :)

Bought the new Camara, Panasonic Lumix LX5 for 1 month but i am still new with it. Before that i am a Canon 40D SLR shooter. Although i have the basic of shooting skill but with the new camera I am still blur with all the settings. So i asked my sifu, Sam Ong from http://eatoutsam.blogspot.com/

Date : 25th June 2011
Went out for Light Trails @ Penang Road and Burmah Road, Penang shooting.

This is a test shoot, exposure time 0.62 sec. ISO 400, F/8. As you can see it start to have the light trail from the car.

Exposure time 5 sec. ISO 400, F/8. Seem like exposure time is not enough. LX5 capable to exposure until 8 Sec.

Love this picture the most cause light trail to the right complete where to left almost to the end only.  It gives a certain on coming  energy.

Love this picture cause not too messy.

After this training i learnt that, shooting light trails have to take care all below:-
1. Timing of the traffic is important.
* Too much or too little will not get nice shots.

2. Timing of the vehicle.
* Calculate the movement of the vehicle to reach certain place you want. As we are using the timer to shot so precise moment the camera shoot is required.

3. Composition of the frame.
* Not too much dark sky.

4. Beware people walk pass behind you.
* Heard a few cases that photographer get robbed during shooting.

Hope one day i can be an expert for LX5 as well :)
